One of the most beautiful spots on the downeast coast is Milbridge. Large sea-captain homes line parts of Main Street (RT-1) and church steeples protrude up into the skyline. Driving across the bridges spanning the Narraguagus River, spectacular views loom in all directions. The Milbridge Marina, lobster and sailboats, and several islands are visible on one side of the bridge, while the Narraguagus River winds down the other side. Eagles, seabirds and harbor seals are frequent visitors and you might see anglers fishing from the river banks.
Milbridge has a lot to offer residents and travelers alike. Two banks, a couple of gas stations, museum, a grocery store and other convenience facilities are located downtown. McClellan Park is a pristine campground and forested area on the shore of Narraguagus Bay, just a few miles down the Wyman Rd. Gorgeous views of the river, bay, ocean, and many islands greet park visitors. Camping permits can be obtained at the Milbridge Town Office. There are picnic sites for day use as well.
